Your privacy

Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Wheel Names handles information when you use wheelnames.org. Most spinner interactions happen in your browser. We do not require an account to use the wheel, and entering a name on a wheel does not by itself send that entry to us.

Scope of this Privacy Policy

This policy applies to public pages and browser-based tools on wheelnames.org. It does not control websites reached through external links. Those sites publish their own privacy terms.

Information we process

Wheel entries and settings

Names, options, colors, modes, history, and similar wheel state are processed by site code in your browser. Some settings or history may remain in local browser storage so the tool can remember your choices.

Contact messages

If you use the contact form, we receive the name, email address, optional relevant URL, message, submission time, and technical anti-abuse information recorded by WordPress or the host.

Server and security logs

Hosting and security systems may record IP address, user agent, requested URL, timestamps, referrer, error data, and suspicious activity to deliver and protect the site.

How we use information

  • Deliver the requested page and operate the spinner.
  • Remember local preferences and wheel state where supported.
  • Respond to support, privacy, accessibility, correction, and copyright messages.
  • Investigate errors, abuse, fraud, and security incidents.
  • Maintain, measure, and improve performance and usability using information available to us.
  • Comply with law and establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.

Browser storage and wheel data

Browser storage can hold entries, design preferences, spin history, image choices, or feature settings on the device you use. Clearing site data in your browser removes locally stored information. Exported CSV, JSON, images, screenshots, or shared links are controlled by you after they leave the page. Avoid using real names when labels or initials would work, and never enter sensitive personal information.

Read the Cookie Policy for storage categories and browser controls.

When information may be disclosed

We may use hosting, security, caching, email, and technical service providers that process limited information to operate the site. We may disclose information when required by law, to protect users or the service, in connection with a legitimate business transfer, or with your direction. We do not sell wheel entries. See Data Rights and Deletion for request options.

How long information is kept

Local browser data remains until you clear it, the feature overwrites it, or your browser removes it. Contact messages and relevant correspondence are retained only as long as reasonably necessary to answer the request, prevent abuse, meet legal duties, and preserve required records. Security logs are retained according to operational and hosting needs.

Your privacy rights

Depending on applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, objection, or information about disclosures. You may also have the right to complain to a local supervisory authority. Submit a request through Contact Us. We may verify your identity and may deny or limit a request where the law permits.

Children’s privacy

Wheel Names is a general-audience tool and is not directed to children under 13. Teachers, parents, and other adults should supervise classroom or family use and avoid entering children’s full names or other identifying records. We do not knowingly request personal information from children through the contact form.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, but no internet service or storage method is completely secure. Keep backups of important exports, use non-sensitive labels, and report suspected vulnerabilities through the contact page without publicly disclosing exploit details.

Policy changes and contact

We may revise this policy when features, providers, or laws change. The updated date identifies the current version. Material changes may receive additional notice where appropriate. Questions and requests can be sent through Contact Us.
