Weighted Wheel Probability Explained With Examples
Weighted wheel probability is each entry’s weight divided by the total weight of all active entries. A weight changes relative chance; it does not guarantee a result or make a short sequence follow the expected percentages.

If weights are 1, 2, and 7, the total is 10. Their chances are 10%, 20%, and 70% on each independent spin. Multiplying every weight by the same number leaves those probabilities unchanged.
Calculate the chance of an entry
Add all active weights. Divide one entry’s weight by that total, then multiply by 100 for a percentage. Recalculate whenever an entry or weight changes.
For weights 3, 3, and 4, the chances are 30%, 30%, and 40%. The displayed slice sizes should reflect the same ratios.
Understand weights, duplicates, and normalization
Two identical rows of weight 1 create two selectable positions. They produce the same total probability as one row of weight 2 only when those rows truly represent the same eligible option.
Weights can be normalized to smaller ratios. Values 10, 20, and 70 are equivalent to 1, 2, and 7.
Interpret short-run results correctly
Independent random spins can produce streaks. A 70% entry can lose several times, and a 10% entry can win twice. Expected probability describes many trials, not a promise about a small sample.
Use simulation or repeated trials to inspect implementation behavior, but do not alter a real draw because early results look uneven.
Use weighting transparently
Publish the reason and exact weights before an important selection. Weighting may represent bonus entries, capacity, priority, or approved exposure, but hidden weights undermine trust.
Leave weights equal when the announced rule promises one equal chance per participant.
